MONSTER HALLOWEEN CEILIDH
Triangle Centre Saturday 31st October 2009.
The Committee worked extra hard to organise and deliver a special Halloween Ceilidh
with dressing up and games as part of the entertainment. Unfortunately both the President, Neil Farquhar and vice-president, Iain Fairweather, were unable to attend but stalwart Joe Johnston
did a great job of organising the music, ably supported with the impromptu programme by Graham Hutchison and of course Society legend Harry Hutchison. Sandy and Andy licked off the event in usual style.
There were excellent performances by the Dover Divas, Margaret Danstead on the Harp, Junior Scottish Dancers, Apple Dooking by Dracula, Piper was Margaret Adamson, performing to her usual high standard. The children's fancy dress prize was won by one of the girls of the Junior Dancers and the adult competition could only be won by Davina Hutchison as Countess Vampira ! The Committee in the absence of the usual officers (raffle/treasurer etc) organised the raffle and interval refreshments .

MARCH CEILIDH
Over 60 members, guests and children attended the Society's March Ceilidh on Saturday 14th March 2009, at the Triangle Centre, Dover.
Unfortunately, chief organiser Joe Johnston could not take part but the music and entertainment was gallantly put together by President Neil Farquhar, songstress and dance mistress Norma Nunn and DJ Graham Hutchison. The junior Dancers gave several displays and piper Margaret Adamson was again in fine puff with some excellent Bagpiping. Special entertainment was provided by former president (of not only this Society but also the Burns' Federaion) John Paterson who read Holy Wullie's Prayer dressed for the occasion. Pictures to follow,
Although president Neil felt that the proceedings were a little fragmented and we did not have a full range of music available all those who attended said they had enjoyed themselves.
FLYING SCOTSMAN ??
On Saturday 18th October 2008, our Secretary, Graham Hutchison participated in the first ever
ZIP-RIDE CHALLENGE in Dane John Gardens at Canterbury in support of The Lord Mayor Of
Canterbury's Charity and the Kent Walking Bus. This Society made a donation as it is a good
cause and one of our Committee was actually taking part.
The weather was lovely Graham made a T Shirt especially for the occasion with the Society logo.
As it was actually Graham's 49th Birthday the organisers let him have another go. And, his son James
also had a go and both received their certificates from Kent Charity Challenge.
Well done Graham - at the last count he had raised just under £200 for the charity.
